Administrative Teams and what they do

This council meets monthly to bring together all of the teams, share information and ideas and make decisions on programming, funding, and other issues affecting our church. It is a great place to get to know how the church runs. Representatives from the teams are council members, but there are also opportunities to be Members-at-large to share your thoughts and help lead our church.

This team is also a great place to understand how the church operates. The team works to maintain
the financial integrity of our faith community, paying bills, budgeting, working with all teams to help
ensure that the financial resources of the Hope community are used wisely.  Team meets the second
Sunday after worship.

This team is, by the United Methodist Book of Discipline, in charge of the physical church – its
property, building and upkeep.  This team is also the legal entity of the church, the board of directors
of the Hope corporation.  It is an important team and we are looking for new members! Whether you
are interested in the upkeep of the church, the legal works or just being part of the leadership team
the Trustees is a great place to be involved!

This team is also mandated by The Book of Discipline. SPRC works with the Hope staff, including hiring, yearly reviews and interaction with the Hope faith community.  It also includes areas such as the Rule of Christ to help understand good ways to interact with other community members as well as with staff.  The team meets the 4th Sunday after worship and for 2014 needs members who want to make a difference!

The Lay Leadership team is so rewarding because by the church conference each year they have
done their job and helped to keep our church running smoothly.  This team puts together job
descriptions, keeps a lookout for people who are interested in being part of the Hope teams, and who
help match people’s interests to Hope teams.  This team meets only twice a year but keeps their eyes
open all year long.

This team allows us to find our inspiration and our time with God through Sunday worship services as well as other special times of worship. This includes all aspects of the worship experience including readers, ushers, and communion.  This team is also responsible for bringing the best music to our worship gatherings and beyond.  This team coordinates our wonderful music.  They meet on the first Sunday of the month after worship and always welcome new members as well as new ideas!

Do you like sending cards for birthdays, visiting people when they have had surgery or want to help out at the amazing events we have periodically?  The Care team needs you!  This team includes the Prayer Chain (now by e-mail as well as calling), helping coordinate after worship fellowship and so much more.  The team meets a couple of times a year and then works their magic as needed!

As the Hope Community continues to grow into a missional church the Outreach and Mission team plays a vital role.  Together the team works to provide mission and outreach events, information about our community and what is needed, ways to reach out as individuals, and how best to use our mission resources to carry out Jesus’ work.  The team meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday at 400p and this leadership team needs more members so we can continue this vital work.

Christian Education brings together the leaders and interested members to coordinate education for
all of the Hope Community.  The team ensures there are programs for everyone from young children
to older adults and works to meet the spiritual education needs in a way that connects us to one
another as well as to Christ Jesus.  The team meets quarterly and is always looking for new members and new ideas.

Our beautiful Garden of Hope is maintained by the members of this team!  They also work to ensure that the church yard looks its best working with Trustees on water issues and in replanting and maintaining the area around the church.  Everyone is welcome to weed, to be on call for the garden and landscaping needs!

Our kitchen, with its new stove and ovens, is used regularly for church functions, by Grace Korean Church and by various groups throughout the year.  To ensure that the kitchen is well maintained and stocked this team meets as needed to keep our church kitchen in shape.  You are needed to help ensure our kitchen stays as wonderful as it is now!
