“The Wired Word” – Rev. Joan Goebel, retired UMC clergy, will facilitate a Sunday morning class using The Wired Word, a United Methodist resource. The Wired Word starts with a news article from the week, and offers scriptures and questions to help a class confront the news with our faith. How does our faith help inform us about choices being made around us? The class is not about changing our opinions; rather it is meant to help us be better Christians in our world. The class will begin June 18th at 11:10 in the Mathison Room. Feel free to get a cup of coffee and snack before we start. Drop in any time this summer! Contact the office if you hope to attend, and you can receive an emailed copy of the week’s news article on Fridays.
Gentle Yoga – will return in the fall, meeting Tuesdays 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. in Mathison Room for contiguous seven-week sessions. Student/senior rates for 7 week classes is $63, drop in at $10/class.

With love, kindness, and gratitude, we share our practice and build community to awaken the healer within each of us. For more information, call Michelle: 218.390.4239

We also have ongoing “groups” of people needed to help things operate smoothly here at Hope! Please consider becoming an active participant in any of these areas: Sunday Worship Scripture Readers (scriptures provided in advance of the service) Hospitality Servers (critical need for Sunday mornings. Goodies and dish washing help are provided. Helpers just need to make coffee, set up for fellowship service and then clean up following.) Ushers (hand out Sunday bulletins and help collect offering) Communion Helpers (This includes providing/prepping the communion elements as well as assisting congregation during communion service during worship) “Fix-it Team” (Have fix-it abilities? We always seem to have little tasks needing attention around the building. Let us know what your skills are and we may ask your help!) Mission Item Delivery Drivers (Bringing collected mission donations to area site such as CHUM, Damiano Center, etc.) Chaperones for Youth Events (Hang with our awesome youth!) Office Volunteers (We could use both “people people” for answering phones when staff is scheduled out of office as well as “paper people” who would like to help organize/declutter/ maintain/clean our various office areas.)
And that’s just a short list! If you have a skill and/or time to volunteer, we will have something for YOU! Just connect with us either by phone: 218-724-2266 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know your availability and skills and we will work with you!
