The Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days of Summer
Yes, the days are growing a little shorter all the time, but the weather is PRIME along the Lake this time of year! This August we are preparing for fall activities, and welcoming Rev. Sarah Lawton as our new pastor as of late July! We had a terrific Vacation Bible School with Lego Blocks, the Garden of Hope is beautiful and restful, Adventure Day Campers had a fabulous week at Island Lake — summer has been good to us.
Old Fashion Methodist Potluck
Sunday, August 12 following worship at 11:15 a.m.
Bring a dish to pass if you are able, and join in welcoming Rev. Sarah Lawton as Pastor of Hope United Methodist Church. It’s also a great opportunity to enjoy each other around the table. Hope has received many new members this year, so this is a good chance to sit with someone new to you and get to know each other personally.
Age Well Memory Café
Tuesday, August 14 from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.
A Memory Café is a group where those suffering from memory loss, as well as their care providers and family members, can find relaxation, fun, and the support of other people who are having similar experiences. Kitchen Cleaning Day
Saturday, August 18, 9:00 a.m.
Every now and then, it just has to be done — think of all the meals and good fellowship generated by that kitchen! Please volunteer an hour or two of your time in this important task; call the office or sign up in the church narthex. Thank you!
Garden of Hope Work Days
Volunteers pull weeds, plant, and water during the “dog days,” and the results are spectacular. Bring your work gloves any Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., or call the office if you can’t come then but would like to lend a hand.

Hope UMC can be a busy place. Between church activities, weddings, funerals, and outside groups using our building there is always lots going on! Before you decide to have a meeting or hold an event, or if you would like to know what’s happening at Hope, just look at the calendar! It’s in this newsletter and is also posted on the bulletin board by the parking lot entrance, on the Mathison Room door and on the Fellowship Hall door. Look and see what’s happening at Hope!
